IPC charges frozen
The fees payable by businesses regulated under integrated pollution control (IPC) and radioactive substances legislation will remain unchanged in 1996/7, mostly for the second year running. The freeze suggests that HM Inspectorate of Pollution faces a further drop in its real income from charges in relation to its expanding responsibilities under IPC as it transfers to the Environment Agency.
