The first full picture of processes regulated under integrated pollution control (IPC) has emerged with the submission of applications for the last tranche of existing processes. The chemical industry accounts for over half of the 2,100 or so processes under control - but many timber, paper and textile processes appear to have escaped IPC under "triviality" exemptions.
