Waste inspections well below official targets
Waste regulation authorities (WRAs) in England conducted only two-thirds of the officially recommended minimum number of inspections of waste facilities in 1994/5, according to a survey by ENDS. The Environment Agency, which is taking on additional waste-related duties, also seems set to miss the targets by a sizeable margin.
