MPs slam HMIP, Castle Cement over Cemfuel affair

HM Inspectorate of Pollution and Castle Cement were strongly criticised in a House of Commons debate on 20 March over the company's use of waste-derived fuels at its site in Ribblesdale, Lancashire. MPs called for a full study of health effects of the kilns' releases, and attacked the Government's failure to respond to a report on the issue by the House of Commons Environment Committee.
