Department of Health savaged over dioxin safety

The Department of Health's position on safe levels of dioxin exposure came under attack at an international scientific meeting at Lancaster University in April. According to evidence presented by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department's guidelines on safe exposures to dioxins and furans (PCDD/Fs) may be a factor of 100 too high to prevent damage to health.
