ACBE's plan to promote environmental reporting

Britain's two new environment agencies have been urged to forge links with the Stock Exchange and other financial institutions to spur environmental reporting by companies. The Government's Advisory Committee on Business and the Environment (ACBE) believes they should use as a model the mutually beneficial relationship between the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in promoting freer disclosure of environmental information by companies.1
