IGC set to alter framework for EC environment policy

The environment has been assured of a hearing during the EC's Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) which began on 29 March, with Scandinavian nations taking the lead in putting it on the agenda. The UK has contributed no thoughts on the environment in its IGC policy paper, but intends to pursue changes to legislative and institutional processes which may have important implications for environmental policy and legislation.
