Severn Trent leaps to top of water pollution league

Severn Trent Water holds the doubtful accolade of being the company prosecuted most often by the National Rivers Authority (NRA) for water pollution. Water companies continued to be the most frequently prosecuted businesses in 1995, when the overall number of prosecutions brought by the NRA fell substantially for the second year running.
