Eco-label accord on copying paper despite industry objections

EC eco-label criteria for copying paper products have finally been agreed by the scheme's Regulatory Committee in the teeth of fierce opposition from European and North American paper producers. The European paper industry continues to advocate the EC eco-management and auditing scheme (EMAS) as an alternative to the eco-label - but very few paper companies have been registered to date.
