Plastics producers struggle to increase recovery rates

Plastics producers have made little headway in reducing the amount of waste going to landfill, according to a report by the Association of Plastics Manufacturers in Europe (APME).1 The report shows that recycling and recovery rates have declined since the early 1990s, and calls for an expansion in incineration - but not recycling - capacity.
