Oil and car industries scrap over Auto/Oil outcome
The car industry has stepped up its attack on the European Commission's proposed new standards for car emissions and fuel quality, claiming that oil refiners have been let off lightly. Indeed, a recent report from the Commission suggests that it is keen to avoid imposing high costs on the oil industry. However, the two sectors are united in opposing Brussels' plans for tighter standards in 2005.
