Push for access to justice in new ECE treaty
Environmental groups are pushing for binding rules on access to justice for individuals and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in a new Convention on access to environmental information and public participation in decision-making which is being prepared by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (ECE). The Convention may influence EC discussions on access to justice and the pending review of its 1990 Directive on public access to environmental information.
