Community service for contractor after £560,000 pollution incident
A Somerset demolition contractor who tipped seed dressings containing lindane and mercury down a drain has been fined £1,500 and ordered to carry out 200 hours community service. The pesticides caused a large fish kill and necessitated a £560,000 clean-up lasting several months.
