LAAPC upgrading deadlines being missed by many companies

More than one in three industrial processes regulated under local authority air pollution control (LAAPC) are failing to meet upgrading deadlines laid down in statutory guidance, according to a survey for the Department of the Environment (DoE). The DoE's review of the first five years of the regime also shows that enforcement action is running at a low level.1
