Guidance for pulp and paper brings IPC cycle to a close

HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) has reached a milestone with the publication of the final two guidance notes for processes under integrated pollution control (IPC).1 The guidance for the pulp and paper industry makes allowance for the difficulties of detecting low levels of pollutants in high-volume, mixed effluents - and raises important questions over the exemption of processes from IPC on the grounds of "triviality".
