Sticky start for Round Table with rebuff on energy policy
The relationship between the Round Table on Sustainable Development and the Government has got off to an inauspicious beginning. The Round Table's first concrete proposal - the inclusion of an environmental duty on gas industry regulator Ofgas in the Gas Bill - was rejected by the Government in June. The group will continue work on energy policy, and will also focus on sustainable transport and environmental auditing over the next twelve months.
