Incinerators face increases in ash disposal costs

Incinerator operators are examining ways of reusing ash with renewed vigour in the light of proposed changes to waste classification rules which could push up their disposal costs steeply. Particular difficulties are likely to arise with the disposal or reuse of the growing quantities of fly ash generated by improved gas clean-up equipment.
