Hickson escapes "double jeopardy"
Yorkshire chemical company Hickson will not be prosecuted a second time over a spill of timber preservative at its Castleford site last year. The National Rivers Authority (NRA) asked magistrates to drop the second case, but says that the move should not necessarily be regarded as a pointer to its future policy.
