HMIP beefs up enforcement with in-depth IPC audits

HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) has announced plans to beef up its policing role with in-depth audits of major industrial sites subject to integrated pollution control (IPC). In a parallel initiative, it hopes that a project involving six firms in north-east England will repeat its success in identifying impressive cost savings resulting from IPC at Allied Colloids' site in Bradford, Yorkshire.
