Update on EMAS, BS7750
A milestone in the implementation of the EC's eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS) in the UK was passed on 11 July when the first three "verifiers" under the scheme received their accreditation from the National Accreditation Council for Certification Bodies (NACCB). But business interest in obtaining registration under EMAS or the UK's own environmental management standard, BS7750, is running at more of a trickle than a flood.
