Serious water pollution drops by a third
Serious water pollution incidents in England and Wales declined by 31% during 1994, according to a National Rivers Authority (NRA) report.1 But the total number of pollution incidents continued its long-term upward trend. Construction firms are by far the worst industrial polluters. Incidents in Scotland also increased in 1993/4.
