Businesses sleepwalk towards landfill tax

Many larger British companies remain unaware of the Government's plans to introduce a landfill tax next year, according to a survey carried out for the waste management business Biffa. The survey has also revealed a surprisingly high level of support for a ban on the disposal of liquid and more toxic wastes to landfill.
