Final ISO draft still weaker than BS7750 and EMAS

A final draft of the international environmental management standard, ISO14001, was agreed at a meeting in Oslo in June. Europeans won some concessions from the US delegation to bring it closer to the requirements of the EC's eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS). But ISO14001 remains a weaker document than either EMAS or the UK's standard, BS7750. It now seems clear that BS7750 will be withdrawn within the next two years.
