DoE makes headway at last on HFC pacts
A year and a half after the Government announced plans to control emissions of HFCs by means of voluntary agreements with industry, it has at last persuaded the largest potential user sector, refrigeration, to begin talks. Producers and users of HFCs, which are powerful greenhouse gases, have until now stonewalled attempts to talk about agreements, accusing the Department of the Environment (DoE) of being biased against them.
