A consultation report published by the National Rivers Authority (NRA) has set the agenda for the water industry and the Environment Agency on water conservation and demand management.1 The report calls for a national committee to steer a water saving strategy. Meanwhile, the water industry has responded to public concern by announcing a new commitment to reduce leakages from its distribution system by up to 40% over the next ten years.
