HMIP moots performance criteria for move to self-monitoring

As part of a move towards placing greater reliance on self- monitoring by operators under integrated pollution control (IPC), HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) is to publish performance criteria for stack emission testing. It is also planning to draw up a list of approved "test houses" which could be used to help identify priority sites for its own check monitoring programme.
