Labour favours EC harmonisation of emission limits for IPPC

The Government has confirmed that the number of processes subject to integrated pollution control (IPC) in Britain will be more than doubled by the EC Directive on integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC). The figures were set out during a debate in the House of Commons European Standing Committee on 13 December which also saw Labour at odds with the Government over the harmonisation of emission limits at EC level.
