Government proceeds with plan to curb domestic noise nuisance
New measures to tackle the problem of domestic noise nuisance were announced by the Government on 12 December. Two of the initiatives - clearer powers for temporary confiscation of noise-making equipment, and a new criminal offence of night-time neighbour noise disturbance - have been incorporated in a Private Member's Bill which has cross-party support.
