Fresh industry proposals for packaging waste recovery

Packaging industry representatives have agreed how the legal responsibility for recovering used packaging could be split between the four parts of the packaging chain. But the deal may last for only two years after legislation introducing the obligation to recover used packaging takes effect in mid-1996, after which it will be reviewed by the Government. V-WRAG, the packaging industry body, is still considering its response to these fresh proposals.
