Generator first to be convicted for breach of IPC permit

National Power has become the first company to be prosecuted for breaching conditions laid down in an integrated pollution control (IPC) authorisation. Fines and costs totalling almost £21,000 were imposed on the company in February in connection with two oil discharges from its Littlebrook D power station in Kent.
