  • ICI Chemicals & Polymers is at the sharp end of two test-case prosecutions being brought by Greenpeace. The charges, brought under Section 85 of the Water Resources Act 1991, relate to the presence of unconsented chemicals in the outfalls from ICI's plants at Fleetwood, Lancashire and Wilton, Teesside. Greenpeace claims to have detected 174 different compounds in Wilton's outfall, compared to just nine in the site's discharge cons
