DEFRA has reiterated its desire to ensure waste is sent for recycling rather than to incineration plants in response to figures suggesting the UK is on track to incinerate more than half if its waste.

Data from anti-incineration lobby group UK Without Incineration (UKWIN) shows that the amount of incinerators across the UK is set to double in the next ten years.
