Environment Agency suspends landfill permit over odour

The Environment Agency (EA) has blocked a landfill site from taking in any more waste until it remedies its odour issues.

The company, Octagon Green Solutions Ltd which owns the Blaydon Quarry site in Newcastle upon Tyne, has two weeks to comply with the permit suspension notice issued by the EA yesterday.
