Waste incineration Directive forces cement kiln upgrades
Lafarge Cement is fitting abatement to kilns at four sites in England and Wales to comply with tighter emission limits on oxides of nitrogen (NOx) required by the waste incineration Directive. Some 130 other industrial sites have applied for permission to continue burning waste - and many will also have to invest in improvements.
