Long-overdue move on petrol vapour recovery

Larger petrol stations will be required to capture emissions of petrol vapour during vehicle refuelling by 2010, under proposals issued by the Environment Department (DEFRA).1 Debate on the so-called "Stage II" controls has been running for more than a decade - but DEFRA now says that the equipment is likely to save the oil industry money.
