Commission launches next phase of better regulation drive

The European Commission has elaborated on its plans for a three-year programme to simplify and streamline EU law. To begin, all legislation affecting the waste, construction, and automotive sectors will be screened for impacts on competitiveness - and key Directives on integrated pollution prevention control (IPPC) and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) are also coming under scrutiny.
