MEPs cave in on F-gases and waste shipment rules

The European Parliament ignored recommendations from its own Environment Committee in October when it backed measures to curb leakage of fluorinated gases rather than force replacement with less damaging alternatives. MEPs also dropped demands to ban cross border shipments of waste for repackaging or interim processing under the revision of the 1993 waste shipment Regulation.
