Study stirs hot debate on aviation climate impacts
New research suggests that emissions of nitrogen oxides from aviation need not be included in greenhouse gas emissions trading. But this may simply reflect the use of a 100-year time frame for assessing warming effects, which ignores the impact of short-lived pollutants.
