EU research fleshes out risks of androgenic chemicals

In 2003 the EU's Comprendo programme set out to investigate the exposure of humans and wildlife to chemicals that interfere with male hormone systems. At a concluding conference in Frankfurt in March, scientists heard about androgens and anti-androgens in food and sediments, and a new assay for the compounds using invertebrates.
