EIC calls for tougher CRC in green manifesto

More expensive emissions allowances under the Carbon Reduction Commitment are among proposals by the Environmental Industries Commission to support progress towards a greener economy

The ambition of the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Energy Efficiency Scheme must be increased and brownfield development “urgently” supported, says the Environmental Industries Commission (EIC) in its policy manifesto.1

Launched in April, the document details the group’s recommendations for driving green industries’ growth and competitiveness. It warns that growth in new businesses, green jobs and exports will be forfeited if its points are not heeded.
