Energy regulator Ofgem has launched an inquiry into alleged misreporting by Eon of its use of compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) to meet duties under the carbon emissions reduction target scheme.

CERT requires energy firms to invest in home energy efficiency. But many firms have been criticised for distributing too many CFLs to meet CERT rather than investing in insulation (ENDS Report 411, p 12).
