CLAIRE updates developers’ soils code of practice

A new version of the code of practice for handling soil on development sites has been published. It now also covers direct transfers of soils between sites

Contaminated land industry body, CLAIRE, has published a revised version of its Definition of Waste: Development Industry Code of Practice.1

Updating the original code from 2008, it extends its remit to the direct transfer and reuse of clean, naturally occurring soils between sites. Like version one, it also allows for the on-site reuse of contaminated and uncontaminated materials, and their transfer between sites within a defined group of projects.
