A revised standard for investigating potentially contaminated sites was published on 31 March.1
The BS 10175:2011 reflects progress in contaminated land investigation policy since 2001 and current good practice. It replaces BS 10175.
The standard will be used by practitioners with an understanding of the risk-based approach to site assessment. Its publication follows a wide-ranging consultation with academics, industry and regulators (ENDS Report 426, p 27).
