A Somerset waste transfer station has been fined for breaching the terms of its environmental permit. 

Westcombe Waste Ltd appeared before Yeovil magistrates on 8 April. It pleaded guilty to operating a waste facility in breach of its permit and failing to comply with an Environment Agency notice; offences under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2007. It was fined £5,015 with £4,982 costs.

The company’s site near Somerton receives waste from an associated skip hire company. It is adjacent to a landfill, also operated by Westcombe Waste Ltd.
