Permit breaches have cost a poultry firm more than £42,000 in fines and costs.

Moy Park Ltd, part of the Marfrig Group, operates at sites in England, Northern Ireland, the Netherlands and France. In 2009, it ran a poultry unit at Sibsey, near Boston in Lincolnshire.

It appeared before Boston magistrates on 23 March and pleaded guilty to allowing odours to escape from the unit between July and November 2009. For breaching regulation 38(1)(b) of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2007, it was fined £30,000. Costs were £12,123.
