Sustainability standard for the UK film industry launched

A green standard for the film and television sector has been published by the British Standards Institution

A new specification for sustainable management in the film industry, BS 8909, has been announced. It covers production, cinema exhibition and home entertainment, and addresses the environmental, social and economic impacts of this sector of the media.

The standard was developed by the British Standards Institution (BSI) with a range of partners including the British Film Institute, the Association of British Certification Bodies, Broadcasting Entertainment Cinematograph, the Cinema Exporters Association, Film ExportUK, the Production Managers Association, and the UK Screen Association.
