Charterhouse to take majority stake in ERM

The ownership of Environmental Resources Management, is set to change hands. Private equity group Charterhouse Capital will acquire a majority stake

Private equity firm, Charterhouse Capital Partners, is to acquire a stake “in the region of 65%” in Environmental Resources Management (ERM).

The deal values the consultancy at £585m and will see Charterhouse buy-out the previous owners, Bridgepoint Capital. The remaining shares will be held by ERM’s 440 partners. The firm’s ownership structure has comprised private equity and partners since 2001.

London and Paris-based Charterhouse specialises in large European buy-outs. Senior partner? Stuart Simpson told ENDS that he favours high-growth service sector businesses, with a global reach.
