Thinner agency meets most 2010/11 goals

The Environment Agency has fulfilled or made significant progress on most of the goals it planned to meet during the last financial year

Paul Leinster: agency saved 725,000tCO2The Environment Agency has met 24 of the 40 targets it set itself in the first year of its 2010 to 2015 corporate strategy (ENDS Report 418, p 32).1

Another eight have been marked as ‘amber’ and were close to fulfilment. While some other organisations would accept these as essentially met, “we are quite hard on ourselves” chief executive Paul Leinster told an agency board meeting.
