Government sets out thoughts on UK climate infrastructure

A new cross-government report on the climate resilience of UK infrastructure seeks to “catalyse action”, but offers little of substance

A cross-government report launched by the environment department (DEFRA) focuses on challenges and opportunities in adapting the transport, energy, water and information technology sectors to climate change.1

The report says the case for early action is “compelling”. Adaptation and long-term sustainability must be built into the UK’s £200bn infrastructure investment over the next five years “from the start”, it says.
