John Mann MP has questioned why the Palace of Westminster has not installed renewable power generation.

The Labour member for Bassetlaw addressed the House of Commons on 28 April, stating: “There must be scope for solar energy and… air-source heat pumps. Isn’t it time we get our act together and started using renewables far more on the parliamentary estate?”

John Thurso MP, the Liberal Democrat who represents the House of Commons Commission, responded. He said the parliamentary maintenance programme puts renewables “right at the heart of work and all of these issues are looked at”.
